Ethical Principles: Fairness, Transparency, Explainability

Legal permission does not automatically make an AI application ethically responsible. Patrick Wellens invites participants to look beyond the question “Can we use AI?” and ask the equally important question “Should we use AI?” The session examines fairness, transparency and explainability as practical principles for responsible decision-making and considers the ethical implications of how, where and why AI is deployed. Participants broaden their perspective from formal legal compliance to the thoughtful and accountable use of artificial intelligence.
